Financing your training

Vocational training is a resource available both to employers and to employees to help them adapt to changes in professional practices in their sector and develop their skills. There are many schemes available to finance vocational training.

Are you a job seeker?

Individual Financial Assistance for Training (AIF)
Funded by Pôle Emploi to meet specific needs not covered by other training schemes).

Personal training fund (CPF)
If you have sufficient credits in your personal training fund (CPF) to undertake the intended training, your project is considered to be approved as part of the personalised plan for access to employment (PPAE). You will not need authorisation from Pôle Emploi.
However, if you have insufficient credits, Pôle Emploi will need to validate the training plan in order to set up financing (Opacif, State, region, etc.). In all cases, you must inform your Pôle Emploi adviser of your plans during your interviews.

Professional reassignment contract (CSP - Contrat de sécurisation professionnelle)
In the event of redundancy on economic grounds, in a company not subject to the requirement to offer outplacement leave, the CSP is offered to employees and provides for the financing of training.

Individual operational preparation for employment
This aims to develop the skills needed for a particular job. It is initiated by an employer and allows a jobseeker to follow a training course in order to acquire the skills required to take up a job for which an offer has been made to Pôle Emploi. The training may not exceed 400 hours.

Are you an employee?

Employment protection plan (PSE)
Employers considering redundancy for economic reasons must, in certain cases, implement a PSE with the aim of limiting and/or avoiding redundancies, or even facilitating reclassification. The PSE may provide for the financing of training.
